A focus on patient-centered care is driving changes in the way health care is provided, which in turn spurs changes to the health care
real estate market. For example, Craig Hospital is nearing completion on the hospital’s expansion from 135,000 to 220,000 square
feet, but the patient capacity will remain the same. The new facility will offer private suites instead of the traditional format that
put two to three patients in every room. The new suites are designed to provide ample room for family to visit and confer with
physicians and the rehabilitation team.
