The Grand Hyatt Denver and
Hyatt Regency Denver at Colo-
rado Convention Center hotels
will undergo renovations of
their meeting and event spaces
at a combined cost of approxi-
mately $10 million.
The renovations are designed
to provide “bold and fresh aes-
thetics” that reflect the down-
town hotels’ brands and the
Mile High City.
At the Grand Hyatt, located
at 1750 Welton St., the confer-
ence space will be completely
modernized. The Aspen (for-
merly Grand) and Colorado
(formerly Imperial) ballrooms,
as well as numerous meeting
rooms located on two intercon-
nected levels, will receive new
floor and wall coverings in pat-
terns inspired by downtown
Denver’s urban grid, using grey
and sunset rust tones. Custom
light fixtures and “refreshed”
elevator lobbies also are part
of the renovations. Looney and
Associates is the architect.
“Grand Hyatt Denver fea-
tures innovative design and a
dramatic, exciting atmosphere.
We create spectacular events,
and we look forward to wel-
coming our new and returning
guests to our renovated event
and social spaces,” Mark Stie-
beling, general manager, said in
a press release.
The conference and meeting
space upgrades come on the
heels of The Grand Hyatt Den-
ver’s recent $33 million renova-
tion.
The 1,100-room Hyatt Regen-
cy Denver at Colorado Con-
vention Center, which recently
underwent a $23 million guest
room update, has 60,600 square
feet of versatile board room and
meeting room spaces, includ-
ing the Capitol and Centennial
ballrooms and adjoining pre-
function areas. The renovations
designed by Rowland+ Brough-
ton feature layers of texture and
color designed to evoke the
surrounding mountains, and
contemporary furnishings and
design details to create a mod-
ern, yet residential, feel.
The hotel foyer functionality
will be enhanced with furnish-
ings that can be configured for a
variety of meeting and conven-
tion seating styles. One meeting
space will provide collabora-
tive seating and work tables for
multifunctional use.
“We look forward to welcom-
ing our customers to meet in
our new space, where they will
find innovative design that will
complement both business and
social gatherings,” said hotel
General Manager Ed Bucholtz.
Renovations at both hotels are
scheduled to be completed by
the end of the month.
