Whether its an act of kindness on the human level or a cor- porate endeavor to help out a community in need, it feels good. In this issue, you’ll find a couple of such “feel good” stories: Colorado firms doing their part where they can. Whether its STUDIO Architecture helping to bring sup- portive housing to Boulder or Brinkmann Constructors delivering the new Clinica Family Health facility in La- fayette, saving the client needed dollars along the way, the local design and construction community is doing its part. Education is another hot topic in this issue. Knoll is look- ing at ways to create holistic learning environments while Page breaks down trends in student housing design. Other trends covered here look at activating Denver plazas – private and public – for all; building community entertain- ment venues; and embracing diversity as cities evolve. Projects featured this time around include not only the stunning all-glass Finan- cial House in Cherry Creek North, but also Denver Health’s Outpatient Medi- cal Center, which features Colorado’s first Sideplate bolt system, and SOVA on Grant, a new Uptown luxury apartment community. As for my part, doing good means a return trip to Africa – learning and sharing more about rhino conservation (shameless plug: Take a look at the ad in the back of Build- ing Dialogue). Stay tuned as I know I’ll have stories to share with you in September! The dialogue continues to be outstanding, thanks to the great projects you are building and designing. Please keep ‘em rolling.
