The material things we own should serve us and enhance our lives, but too often they overwhelm us and drag us down. Simplifying your life centers your personal energy and brings balance to everything you do: daily routines, friendships, career, the flow of your home, and how you travel. Simplifying can free up money and open more time for you to enjoy your life. In this interactive class you will learn to identify your roadblocks and get practical strategies to overcome them. Whether you’re preparing for a move, wanting to unburden your adult children from the trappings of your life, or getting organized, this class will give you helpful tools. Lisa McIntyre , once a professional organizer, simplified her life from a Washington Park home to living a smaller and fuller life. Her upcoming book, Living Small and Being Whole , shares her ongoing journey to simplify everything. $41 Non-Member $29 Member ONLINE : Via Zoom 6566AK: One Sat., 9–11AM 4/17 6566AL: One Sat., 9–11AM 5/22 6566AM: One Sat., 9–11AM 7/17 Mushroom Growing at Home The First Step If you like the idea of growing your own food, consider mushrooms. They can be grown relatively easily in small space, if you know what you’re doing. There are four main phases in mushroom cultivation (agar, grain, bulk substrate, and fruiting); this class covers the first phase. More education and practice will be needed to get a crop of mushrooms to the table, but you’ll get skills and understand the mindset needed. Gain the experience and confidence to make healthy mushroom cultures on agar using spores, liquid culture, fresh mushrooms, or a petri dish culture. Students keep the cultures they make in class and get resources for taking the next steps. Zach Kiser has a degree in horticulture from CSU where he learned these techniques and has successfully grown and fruited seven species of mushroom in his small apartment. He is excited to introduce you to growing your own mushrooms for culinary or medicinal purposes. $51 Non-Member $39 Member $30 materials fee paid in class CFU LOWRY : Near 1st & Quebec 2511S: One Sat., 2–5PM 5/8 How Valuable is That Coin?
