Read failure stories, you’ll get some ideas to get success. ” thus spake our 11th Presi- dent, the Bharat Ratna A P J Abdul Kalam. True to his saying, if we give a throwback glance into the past we come across hundreds of ‘failure stories’ which ended up triumphant. The stories about de- termined people who did not give up on their dreams and did not allow the problem to de- feat them. A simple query to the omniscient Google reflects a series of names of such illustrious failures, some of which will even take you by surprise. The names like Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Alva Edison, Albert Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, Madonna, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Mark Cuban, Mil- ton Hershey, Walt Disney, Steve Jobs, and numer- Hindu philosophy developed over thousands of years through keen observation of the world around us, the insight gleaned through introspection and the wisdom of seers. It is only natural that the ancients looked to nature for answers and nature became an integral part of spirituality, lifestyle and worship. Plants, trees and animals were studied for their at- tributes and made a part of the daily practice. Among the many trees and plants that abound in na- ture, only a select few have been accorded a high sta- tus as the Peepal tree . Known as the King among trees ( Arasa Maram ) in Tamil, the Peepal ( Pip- pala, Aswatha, Bodhi ) tree is revered for not just its health benefits but also in spiritual realms. While most people are familiar with Gautama Buddha at- taining enlightenment under the Peepal tree, many may have not even paid attention to the peepal tree standing in a corner of a temple or in the outskirts The people of India have enjoyed a rich history of classical Hindustani and Carnatic music for centu- ries, and in the current century, the advancement of technology makes it even more robust. Generations ago, parents took pride in providing their children the highest musical education available to them, thus ensuring the continuation of this time-honored tradition. Children as young as three or four would begin learning the foundation of musical theory from their parents, grandparents or tutors and their edu- cation would continue well into adulthood--typically including many opportunities to perform for family, friends, and neighbors.
