No sweat, literally so, follow these golden tips and you are sorted for the rest of your life. 1. Hot-Cold Treatment: Any idea why the Japanese monkeys are so skinny? They are taking hot bath now and the next moment you’ll see them diving in snow. The hot and cold combination does the trick. There are two kinds of fat cells. Brown fat cell is a cell to burn en- ergy. White fat cell is a cell to store calories. When you feel cold, your brown fat cells start burning energy to increase heat. The bigger difference in temperature, the harder brown fat cells work. So, by repeating hot and cold, your brown fat cells are trained to work harder, not just only while you are doing the hot and cold, but also in normal condition. Here is a simple way to enjoy hot and cold bath at home. 1. Take hot bath to warm your body. 2. Immediately after the hot, take cold shower. (or cold bath ideally.) 3. Take hot bath again. 4. Take cold shower again. If you want to wake up your brain clearly, finish in cold. If you want to relax, fin- ish in hot. 2. Laugh The Christmas Weight Away: Laughing intensely for an hour can burn as many calories as lifting weight for 30 minutes, scientists have found. Laughter gives the body a "mini aerobic workout", they believe. It causes the heart to beat faster, sending larger amounts of blood around the body. Laughing out loud also makes the chest rise and fall, which in turn means that stomach mus- cles have to work harder, which can help to tighten them. The act of laughing can even help the skin, by using up to 15 facial muscles, helping to give the face a work out. Laughing can also bolster the immune system, aiding the body to fight off infections like coughs and colds. An hour of strong laughter burns off around 100 calories, the equivalent of a small bag of crisps or small bar of chocolate. The same amount of calories could be worked off through half an hour of weightlifting or by vacuuming for almost three quarters of an hour! 3. Sniff a banana, apple, or peppermint: You might feel silly, but it works. When Alan R. Hirsch, MD, of the Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago tried this with 3,000 volunteers, he found that the more frequently people sniffed, the less hun- gry they were and the more weight they lost—an average of 30 pounds each. One theory is that sniffing the food tricks the brain into thinking you’re actually eating it. For more weight loss tricks, try these other foods that can keep you from overeating if you smell them. 4. Light a vanilla- scented candle after dinner: The aroma has been shown to dampen dessert cravings. One group of 160 volunteers actually lost an average of 4.5 pounds each by wearing vanilla-scented patches. 5. Surround Yourself With Blue: There’s a good reason you won’t see many fast-food restaurants decorated in blue: The color functions as an ap- petite suppressant. Researchers have found that people eat 33 percent less in a blue room; the bluish light that results evident- ly makes food look less appeal- ing. So eat on blue plates, dress in blue while you eat, and use a blue tablecloth. Avoid red, yellow, and orange; studies have shown that they en- courage eating. 6. Intermittent fasting — periods of voluntary abstinence from food and drink — is a broad term that can be applied to many different practic- es. This type of dieting has spurred many books and has received a lot of attention as of late as studies (most- ly in animals) have shown that it may reduce the risk for several dis- eases. The most popular approach is the 16/8, which requires fasting for 16 hours a day. Another version, alternate day fasting (ADF) alternates 24-hour periods of fasting (or very restricted 500 calorie diets) with days of eating freely. The 5:2 approach limits fasting to just two days a week while the Warrior Diet follows a 20-hour fast with one large meal consumed at night. Research shows that intermittent fasting can mimic the effects of very low-calorie diets, which are good for anti-aging, says Foroutan. One study revealed that fasting can delay ag- ing and help prevent and treat diseases. It revealed that fasting triggers adaptive cellular stress responses, which result in a better ability to cope with more stress and counteract disease. 7. D Vitamin: Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to a host of health problems and conditions—and obesity is on the list. A study presented at the 2015 European Congress on Obesity found that overweight or obese indi- viduals who were deficient in vitamin D and took a supplement lost more weight and had greater reductions in their waistlines than their counter- parts who didn’t. It has even made the list of the best vitamins for weight loss. 8. Drink Like A Fish: Don’t get too excited. We are talking about water here. When people drink two eight-ounce glasses of water before every meal, they lose weight and keep it off for at least a year, according to research in Obesity. A dieting group who didn’t drink water managed to shed about 11 pounds; the water drinkers lost 15.5 pounds. 9. Do a shot: Of apple cider vinegar, that is. Apple cider vinegar helps keep blood sugar levels in check, which will keep you feeling fuller longer. And finally, 10. Go To Bed: Many of us have been hearing the weight loss hormone story for a while. If you are sleep deprived: Your body makes more Ghrelin-the hormone that says GO, eat more and Your body makes less Leptin-the hormone that says STOP, and tells your body it is full, and Your body makes more cortisol, which can increase your appetite. Sometimes you can burn more calo- ries when you are asleep than when you are just lying in bed. And it all has to do with our stages of sleep, specifically REM sleep. During REM sleep your brain is more active than any other stage. In fact in some cases it is MORE active than when you are awake. This activity requires fuel for thought called glucose - the basic building block of most foods. Now, drink a glass of water and start right away. AZIndiatimes Correspondent Fastest Fit Formula
